The U.S. Department of State in partnership with our implementing partner Kathmandu Living Labs, is hosting Global TechCamp Reconnect, a hybrid event that seeks both to address global public health challenges, including those related to dis/misinformation surrounding COVID-19, and during the in-person event, counter disinformation throughout South Central Asia.
The virtual event will convene global TechCamp alumni and regional SCA youth and civil society leaders to increase digital technology capacity and improve media literacy to reduce the reach and impact of public health disinformation. The virtual sessions are intended to reach out to participants worldwide, while the in-person event in Kathmandu will focus on addressing local and regional challenges in and around Nepal, making for a powerful program that’s both local and global.
The virtual component will comprise three 3-hour virtual trainings, each running twice live and once as a recorded session with moderated chat.
The in-person event will take place in Kathmandu, Nepal, April 8-10, 2023.
