TechCamp Scandinavia

Bridging Gaps and Crossing Borders

Participants from

Denmark; Norway; Sweden

Description

The U.S. Embassy in Sweden brought together American and Scandinavian journalists to share best practices on diversity in newsrooms and coverage of minority communities – a key issue for media in Scandinavian countries experiencing an increase in refugees. At TechCamp Scandinavia, journalists from Sweden, Denmark, and Norway, including experienced journalists at major media organizations and younger bloggers, came together to discuss new ways to engage with a diverse population. The two-day workshop promoted improved news coverage of diverse communities across the region in order to promote integration and understanding.
