Lonh Samdy is currently a senior consultant in DeCons Research & Development Co., Ltd. in the field of ICT4D from Cambodia. He has been in this field for more than 15 years. His previous roles are database designer, software programmer, web developer, trainer, project manager, and consultant. His regional professional experiences include Cambodia, Vietnam, and Malaysia. He also enjoys working, volunteering, and contributing to the open-source tech community. His technical background was a computer programmer on web-based technology and growing into the field of data and knowledge management, data engineering & science, data visualization, digital data collection and data privacy. With this wide range of technology expertise, he has been on consulting work with multi donors and tech giant funded projects such as Cambodia Government, The World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Transparency International, Malaria Consortium, Adidas, Starbucks, Microsoft, and Google. Most of the consulting work projects include data collection for google speech and handwriting recognition, google maps and street view, agriculture traceability system, ASYCUDA customs system, e-commerce, e-learning, court case management system, Microsoft dynamic ERP, mobile app, and web development.
